Many ask me - What is the difference between Damask & Brocade fabric? So I should explain it first...

Damask Fabric: Damask is a fabric that is made in looms with repeated patterns. The Patterns are controlled by Jacquards that are mounted to the top of the loom. The yarn used in the Damask fabric can be Silk, Wool, Linen, Cotton or Polyester (or any synthetic fabric). The Cotton, Silk or linen fabric are made in manual looms (low powered) while the synthetic fabrics are made in Power looms. Power looms cannot handle yarns made of natural fibres, as they tend to break easily.

Brocade Fabric: Brocade fabric are made in the same process as the damask fabric, except that the patterns are embellished in metallic yarns. Dry clean only.

Dyeing: Dyeing is the process of adding color to fabrics and is normally done in a special solution containing dyes and particular chemical material. After dyeing, dye molecules have uncut chemical bond with fiber molecules. The temperature and time controlling are two key factors in dyeing.  Please note: There might always be a slight variation in the shade if the fabrics are dyed during different times of a year.

Fabric Specifications:

Offered here is Damask fabric made of Polyester yarn with (approx) 7.5 inches repeated cross design. The width of the fabric is 56 inches and the fabric is sold by meters (1 meter = 1.1 yard). This is to ensure that you get complete patterns, so as to avoid wastage. The maximum size of the bolt is 20 meters. So if you order 20 meters, you will receive them as a single piece.

Note: There will be a slight shade variation if you get the same colour during different season of the year (unless we have stock). There might also be slight imperfections in the fabrics like, small thread pulls and lint dirt within the weave. These acceptable flaws are unavoidable in large orders.
